  • Do I have to pick my project in advance?
    Yes, so we have time to build and customize your project. Please be sure to check spelling and information submitted through the online registration form, to ensure your project is accurate and ready for you when you arrive.

  • Do I need to tell you in advance what colors and stain I want to use?
    No. We have a wide variety of paint and stain colors to choose from, along with examples of each, in the wood shop. When you arrive, you can decide which colors will work best for your custom project.

  • Can I bring my own paint or stain?
    We offer many colors for you to choose from, but if there is a specific color that you would like to use, we welcome you to bring it to your wood shop.

  • How long does a wood shop last?
    The average wood shop is 2-3 hours, but that depends on the project(s) being offered.

  • Do I need to be crafty to participate?
    Not at all! Our workshops offer projects for all skill levels and provide guided instruction in a fun environment.

  • Can I make more than one project at a wood shop?
    We limit each person to one project per wood shop due to the time restraints; however, we would love for you to come back for another wood shop!

  • Can I bring a friend with me if they are not working on a project?Unfortunately, because of fire codes and limited seating, we are only able to admit those with a reserved seat for the wood shop.

  • Is there an age requirement to attend a wood shop?
    Yes, due to the tools used. Any infant and child under the age of 18 years old, is not permitted; however, we do offer the ability to book private children or teen parties. Please contact us for more information.

  • Can I bring my own beer and wine?
    Yes! You are welcome to bring your own beer and wine to any of the wood shops that do not specify otherwise. If you or your group are consuming at a wood shop, we ask that you please do so responsibly. Ages 21 and up only.

  • Can I bring my own snacks or food?
    Yes! Feel free to bring your own snacks or food to any of our wood shops.

  • Do you offer refunds?
    We understand that schedules change, so please email us at hello@woodandstaindiy.com with your cancellation request. Any cancellations received at least 72 hours before the scheduled wood shop will receive a full refund. For cancellations received less than 72 hours prior to the start of the wood shop, a FULL class credit for a future wood shop will be issued. This policy does not apply to custom orders.   • Are there any risks involved with a wood shop?
    We provide non-latex gloves, masks, aprons, and safety goggles for your use and only use low VOC paints and stains. Any time you are working with wood, tools, paints and stains precautions should be taken. If you are sensitive to the smell of paint or stain or have any concerns, please contact us to discuss.

  • How can I make sure I am seated with my friends?
    If you are coming with friends, please message us all your names and we will do our best to accommodate seating requests upon your arrival, in the event they were not addressed in advance.

  • Do you allow custom design requests?
    Yes, we welcome ideas to help you create a project that is unique to you. There may be an additional charge depending on the request. Please send the detail and image, where possible, to hello@woodandstaindiy.com.
